Nollywood actors and actress protest at Radisson Blu Hotel over infringement of property.
 
Actors and actress in Nollywood industry on Tuesday September 21, 2021, protested at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja Lagos state.
The protest was led by Mahmood Ali-Balogun, a filmmaker and chairman of AVRS, the association members demanded the right owners in the Nigerian creative industry access to legitimate income that should accrue to the AVRS members also staged the protest over unpaid royalties, salaries, pensions and copyright infringement this was moved under a (CMO) Audio Visual Rights Society Staged the protest over illegal use of intellectual property by the management of the hotel.
The association accused the hotel of failing to pay royalties for using the works of their members.
The association, which is Nigeria’s sole approved collective management organization for audiovisual works, had also asked the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) to send the Beijing treaty on Audiovisual Performances to the National Assembly for domestication and implementation.
